7: How to be unselfish (The fruit of goodness) | Fruition
When it comes to the virtue of goodness, we may think we know what goodness is. For most of us, we tend to think that the opposite of good is bad. But that’s not how the Bible sees it. In fact, the Bible says that the opposite of good is selfishness and so the main challenge for most of us is between good and selfishness, between an interest in others and self-interest. So, it’s interesting that Jesus defines goodness for us. And he does it in a fascinating encounter with someone who you might look at on the surface and think he was the epitome of goodness. As we look in on this encounter, we will discover what goodness is. And once we do understand it, it then impacts how we can show goodness to others.
