4: How to build a strong family | Whole Heart
Today, families are falling apart faster than we can put them together. For years we have been in a values vacuum. We’ve been in a permissive society where, out of the 1960s, anything goes and now we’re reaping the results. Divorce is commonplace in this country with over 1 in 3 marriages failing. Families are breaking down, children are abused, parents are not honoured by their children. Politicians, social commentators, and journalists are confused as to what to do even though they all talk about family values. But what does family values actually mean? If we are supposed to get back to family values, what are they? The problem is that nobody is defining them. The good news is that the Bible tells us what they are in Ephesians 6:1-4. In the message we are going to look at what these verses mean to us today. No matter where you are on the continuum of family, starting out, or at the end, or helping a new family develop, these verses have something to say to all of us.
